1st July, 2015: Dibrugarh University which is embarking upon embracing e-governance in a very holistic and comprehensive manner launched the National Digital India Week beginning from 1st July with a special programme this afternoon at the Indira Miri Conference Hall. Professor A.K. Buragohain, Vice-Chancellor while formally inaugurating the week stated in his address that our country with 1.2 billion people must shift to the digital culture in order to avail the benefit of modern knowledge to bring about all round development. Professor Buragohain elaborated on the present status of digital technology use in Dibrugarh University with respect to teaching, learning, research and governance. He appealed to the University community to take a resolution to make Digital DU in a very effective way. Mr Kaushik Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering made a presentation on the Digital Week with special input from IIT Bombay relating to Spoken Tutorial. Dr. Binud Borah while offering his Vote of Thanks at the end of the function mentioned about some novel digital initiatives by the Academic Section of the University.
