Dibrugarh University which has been offering the undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in Engineering through its Institute of Engineering and Technology (DUIET) since 2009 entered into a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with Jorhat Engineering College (JEC), for academic collaborations between the two institutions of higher learning and research in the field of Engineering and Technology. The MoU was formally signed in a meeting organized at ‘Chintan’- the Conference Hall of the Registrar, Dibrugarh University by Professor Mrinalendra N. Dutta, Registrar, DU and Professor Reeta Sarmah, Principal, JEC. In his opening remark, Professor Alak K. Buragohain, the Vice-Chancellor of the University expressed his hope that the MoU shall facilitate synergy between the two institutions towards continuous teachers’ training, teaching and research at DUIET with the much experienced teachers of JEC. On the other hand, the students of JEC shall have the benefit of using the facilities available at DUIET.
Professor Reeta Sarmah, Principal of JEC and Professor Rupam Baruah of JEC expressed happiness that, this academic collaboration shall open up avenues for more innovative ideas by the young students and faculty members of both the institutes.
The meeting was attended by Prof. L.K. Nath, Dean, School of Science and Engineering, Dr. Mukul Chandra Bora, Associate Dean, School of Science and Engineering, faculty members of both DUIET and the JEC besides all the important officers of the University.
