A blood donation camp was organized on 21st August 2015 by the students of Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering & Technology, Dibrugarh University (DUIET), as a part of the social initiative of Auxesis 5.0 – A techno-cultural & Management festival. The technical support for the camp was provided by the Blood Bank, AMCH, Dibrugarh. The camp was formally inaugurated in the University Health Centre by Prof. JitenHazarika, Dean (Student Affairs), DU in the presence of Dr. M.C Bora, Director of the Institute, Mr. Keshab Biswakarma, Faculty Convenor, Auxesis 5.0, faculty, staff and students of DUIET. The Director stressed on the usefulness and the social responsibility of the students towards the noble work of Blood Donation while addressing the students.
Altogether, 174 units of blood was collected in the camp, which was a daylong event from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm. Students from various academic Departments & Centers of DU came out in large numbers to participate in the camp. The Blood Donation camp was a major success as it was a record collection in a single day in the history of blood bank, AMCH as stated by Mr. Arup Jyoti Khataniar, Blood Bank Social Worker AMCH. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Student Convenor, Sri Sandeep Raj Tamuli, who thanked the participating students of DU for making the camp a successful one.
