The World Blood Donor Day was observed on 14th June, 2016 in the Health Centre of Dibrugarh University. The programme was organized by the NSS Cell, Dibrugarh University as per the instruction from the Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam. Altogether thirty NSS volunteers from DHSK Commerce and Dibru College along with the Programme Officers participated the occasion. Professor Jiten Hazarika, Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dibrugarh University in his inaugural speech cheered up the volunteers and explained the significance of the World Blood Donor Day. Dr. Rashmi Phukan, Senior Medical Officer of Dibrugarh University Health Centre also encouraged the volunteers and explained about the noble job. Dr. Devid Kardong, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, Dibrugarh University, expressed his gratitude to all participating NSS volunteers and the team of medical staff from the Department of Pathology, Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh for successful conduct of the programme.
