Mr. Andrew Mackenzie, Second Secretary, British High Commission, New Delhi visited Dibrugarh University on July 14th, 2016. He is a diplomat in the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and is attached to the Political and Bilateral Affairs Team at the British High Commission, New Delhi.
Mr. Mackenzie interacted with the Vice Chancellor Professor Alak K. Buragohain and discussed about the Education Scenario in Assam. He took a windshield tour on the University Campus along with Professor M.N Dutta, Registrar and Professor Subrata Chakraborty, Director, International Affairs.
He visited few Departments, viz, the Department of Anthropology, the Centre for Studies in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, the Department of Applied Geology, the Department of Petroleum Technology, the Centre for Tea and Agro Studies and the new canteen JO:Sag and interacted with the students, research scholars and faculty members.
Later he interacted with the Deans of the Schools and the Dean, Research ansd Development, the high officials of the University over tea at Vishranta, the University Guest House.
Mr. Pradymna Bora, Programme Manager at British High Commission, accompanied Mr. Andrew Mackenzie during his visit to the University.
