A Fifteen Days Advanced Badminton Training Programme was organized by Dibrugarh University from 2nd May to 19th May 2017. Mr. Narinder Singh, Coach, Chandigarh UT Team, NIS, BWF Level I acted as the resource person in the training programme. Altogether forty numbers of students, Research Scholars, students from colleges and schools participated in the training programme.
Professor Alak Kumar Buragohain, Vice-Chancellor, inaugurated the training program in the Bhimbor Deori Indoor Stadium of the University. The programme was graced by the presence of Md. Zamseed Khan, the President Dibrugarh District Sports Association, as Guest of Honour, Mr. M. N. Saikia, the General Secretary, Dibrugarh District Sports Association, as Guest of Honour, Professor Jiten Hazarika, Dean, Students Welfare, Dibrugarh University, as Guest of Honour, Mr. Narinder Singh, Coach, Chandigarh UT Team, NIS, BWF Level I and some other local sports personalities, President and General Secretary of the Employees Association, DU, Officers, parents and participating players.
In his lecture, Prof. Buragohain stressed upon the need of sports in the process of growing up a healthy society and mentioned some issues like ‘importance of sports as career’, ‘future and needs of sports’, ‘sports facilities and future sports plans of Dibrugarh University’ etc,.
Other dignitaries on the Dias have also delivered their lectures and shared their comments in the session. Mr. Anjan Chetia, the Convener of the Programme, has offered Vote of Thanks to all presents in the meeting.
