The Department of Commerce, Dibrugarh University in association with IIM Calcutta and Makeintern.com organized a two day workshop on ‘Personal Branding’ as a part of the annual fest of IIM-C ‘CarpeDiem’ for the students of the Department of Commerce at Indira Miri Conference Hall from 10th October to 11th October, 2017. A total of 61 students participated in the workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by Professor Ashit Saha, Head, Department of Commerce. In his speech, Professor Saha encouraged and motivated the participants to make best use of the available time and resources. The resource person and mentor for the programme was Mr. Subhash Kartik who holds a wide range of experience in providing training to different sectors of the society through a corporate exposure in the field of Banking.
The two day workshop witnessed acombination of theoretical as well as practical sessions wherein Mr. Kartik instructed and mentored the students on ways of improving and enhancing their competence and skills in relation to public speaking, group discussions and facing interviews. He also motivated them to improve their communication skills. On the second day of the workshop, he selected the best team of five students to participate in the final round of Carpe Diem 2017-18 at IIM- C, Kolkata.
In the valedictory session, Mr. Kartik acknowledged the efforts undertaken by the Department as well as the University at large in shaping and grooming the students for their future contribution to the nation as resourceful citizens. Dr. Chimun Kumar Nath, who is a faculty member in the Department of Commerce and the coordinator for the workshop, offered the formal Vote of Thanks.
