On behalf of Dibrugarh University, Centre for Studies in Physical Education and Sports and NCC Unit (46 Assam Med Coy) observed 5th International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2019 in a colorful manner at Bishnu Rabha Rangamancha from 6.45 A.M. to 8.00 A.M. Teachers, officers, employees, students and nearest public have participated in the programme. During the programme yoga protocol as prescribed has been demonstrated and practiced by the participants along with the dignitaries. Mr. Satya Changmai, Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Sports highlighted the necessity of Yoga in the present context prior to demonstration and practice of the Yoga protocol. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ranjit Tamuli graced the occasion as chief guest and delivered the inaugural speech and mentioned the significance of observation of the Yoga Day. Dr. Mantu Baro, Centre In-Charge of Physical Education and Sports delivered welcome speech. Prof. Mukut Hazarika, Dean, School of Education and Prof. Nirode Boruah, Dean of Student Affairs also graced the occasion as Guest of Honors. In the context of observation of Yoga Day the Centre for Studies in Physical Education and Sports also organized the 17 day Yoga training camp for teachers, officers, employees, students of Dibrugarh University w.e.f. 05.06.2019 and concluded today on 21.06.2019. Dr. O Jiten Singh, Associate Professor of Physical Education proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Mridusmita Phukan anchored the entire programme.
