As a part of the nationwide celebration of Productivity Week 2020, the Department of Commerce in association with Assam Productivity Council, Tinsukia has organized one Talk on the theme “Productivity- What, Why and How” on February 21, 2020. The programme was graced by Mr. B. P. Bakshi, Chairman, Assam Productivity Council, Tinsukia and the Resource Person for the talk was Prof. Pranjal Bezborah, Department of Commerce, D.U. The programme started with a welcome speech by Dr. Chimun Kumar Nath, Head of the Department of Commerce, D.U. In his introductory remark, Mr. Bakshi has elaborated the mission and ideology of National Productivity Council and also a brief history about Assam Productivity Council. Prof. Pranjal Bezborah in his talk explained about the term Productivity and its applications in various sphere of one’s life. “One should not confuse with the term productivity to production”, he added. Further, he showcased the importance of productivity and how it can be achieved with the help of various examples. The talk was followed by a lively interactive session where the students have raised various quarries about Productivity to which both Prof. Bezborah and Mr. Bakshi have replied to their satisfaction. Two prizes were awarded to the two best questions raised by the students. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by the Head, Department of Commerce, D.U.
