The XIV Convocation of Dibrugarh University was held on March 25, 2014.A total of 15,273 candidates of the University, including holders of PhD and M.Phil, were awarded various degrees during the ceremonial convocation byHis Excellency, the Governor of Assam and Hon’ble Chancellor of the University Sjt. Janaki Ballav Patnaik.Professor Basudev Chatterji, eminent Historian and the Chairperson of the Indian Council of Historical Research delivered the Convocation Address as the Chief Guest of the occasion. The Degree of D.Litt (honoris causa) was conferred on two distinguished scholars — Professor Mrinal Miri, a noted Scholar of Philosophy and an eminent Academician and Ven. Sasana Bangsha Mahathera, an eminent Philosopher and Scholar of Buddhism. The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alak K. Buragohain, presented the welcome address, followed by the Inaugural speech of His Excellency, the Governor of Assam and Hon’ble Chancellor of the University who also presided the Convocation Sjt. Janaki Ballav Patnaik.
