Vigilance Week – 2014was observed at the Dibrugarh University on October 30, 2014 amidst the august gathering of the members of the Vigilance Wing and all the Officials of the University Administration. Prof. Nitul Kumar Gogoi, Vigilance Officer, Dibrugarh University, delivered the thematic address – “Combating Corruption : Technology as an enabler”. Deliberating on the issue Prof. Gogoi emphasized upon use of appropriate information technology, full cooperation and participation of all the stakeholders to fight the menace of corruption. Prof. Deb Kumar Chakrabarty, in his short deliberation urged upon the academia to make optimum use of technology to make the university service delivery system more efficient and user friendly. Mr. Binud Borah, Deputy Registrar, Academic, desired that the university community took active part in the fight for corruption. Prof. Dipak Chetia in his Chairperson’s remark highlighted upon the positive aspects of technology and at the same time stressed upon the need to maintain integrity at the work place. The function ended with a pledge administered by the Chairperson.
