SPIC MACAY Program at Dibrugarh University

Dibrugarh University SPIC MACAY Sub Chapter organises electrifying Classical Music Performance Event at Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Centre for Studies in Performing Arts on the 2nd of February 2015. The Special Guest for the Event was Sri. Omkar Dadarkar from Kolkatta, who is a brilliant young Vocalist in the field of Indian Classical Music “Hindustani Style.”  He was accompanied by esteemed Artist Ashok Mukherjee from Kolkatta playing “Tabla” and Khanjit Pathak from Guwahati in hands on “Harmonium.” The programme was marked by lighting of the Lamp by Prof. Karabi Deka Hazarika, Dean- School of Humanities and Social Sciences cum Director i/c Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Centre for Studies in Performing Arts. The Faculty, Staff, Research Scholars and Students of Various Departments & Centres of Dibrugarh University filled the house with applauds and cheers.

True to the Concept of foundation of SPIC MACAY, Indian Cultural Uniqueness and aesthetically rich Indian Performing Arts were spread among the youth for development of values of Indian Ideology and consciousness as true Indians, where we know and understand our rich Bio-Diversity. Hence goes the Proverb; India, a land where exists Unity in Diversity and this can only continue when we understand, appreciate, learn and promote through medium of Art and expression.

The Programme was hosted by Mrs. Nayanmoni Phukan who also ended with vote of thanks to the special guests and organisers of Dibrugarh University SPIC MACAY Chapter on behalf of the entire family of Dibrugarh University for their Noble cause.
