LECTURE SERIES ON NOBEL PRIZE WINNING WORKS

Dibrugarh University Research Scholars' Association (DURSA) is organizing a series of lectures on each of the Nobel Prize winning work for the year 2014.

The series of lectures will be presented by faculty members of the Departments of Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, Life Science and the Centre for Biotechnology. The objective of the DURSA is to familiarize the students, research scholars and other members of the University community with the progress of human knowledge at the cutting edges in these subjects.

firingIMG 4482The first in the series of lectures was presented by Professor Alak K Buragohain, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, a Biologist, who presented the work of Dr. John M. O’Keefe, Dr. May-Britt Moser and Dr. Edvard I. Moser, who have been awarded the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their discoveries of nerve cells in the brain that enable a sense of place and navigation. Professor Buragohain presented in a very lucid way the work of Dr. John M. O’Keefe, Dr. May-Britt Moser and Dr. Edvard I. Moser which was well attended by the students, research scholars and the faculty members of the University on 28th April, 2015.
