A Scholars-in-residence program was arranged in the Seminar Hall of the Centre for Studies in Biotechnology, Dibrugarh University on May 14th, 2015 for the interaction of the Dibrugarh University research scholars with Dr. Joyunti Chutia, Former Director and presently Emeritus Scientist of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Science and Technology (IASST), Guwahati. About fifty scholars from the different Departments of Science, viz., Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences and Biotechnology gathered for a lively interaction as Dr. Chutia is famed for her interdisciplinary scientific research work. In an hour-long interaction, Dr. Chutia not only gave the scholars an outline of her many scientific endeavors and triumphs but also an overall picture of the research scenario in North-East India, and the many opportunities and fellowships that are available for dedicated research scholars in the National laboratories and Universities of this region. The research scholars professed themselves enlightened with new perspectives on scientific research at the end of this interaction.
